Anatomical Directional Terms Flashcards: 10 Core Terms with Examples
Learn 10 core human-anatomy directional terms with 31 flashcards for definitions, reverse recall, and applied body-location examples.
このデッキについて
These anatomical directional terms flashcards cover 10 core terms used to describe where one human body structure sits relative to another. The 31-card deck begins with one anatomical-position prerequisite, then practices three mappings for every term: term to meaning, meaning back to term, and an applied body-location relationship back to term.
The sequence moves from the shared reference position to direct definitions, reverse recall, and applied examples. Every term's three variants are separated by nine other cards. Opposite terms are also kept apart, so a nearby card doesn't give away the answer.
The deck focuses on anterior, posterior, superior, inferior, lateral, medial, proximal, distal, superficial, and deep. Common synonyms such as ventral, dorsal, cranial, and caudal aren't separate retrieval targets; keeping one canonical 10-term set makes reverse prompts predictable. The deck excludes body planes, body cavities, regional terms, movement terms, prone and supine, palmar and plantar, unilateral and bilateral, ipsilateral and contralateral, neuroanatomy-specific axes, diagnosis, treatment, and course or exam alignment claims.
The wording was written from scratch and checked against OpenStax Anatomy and Physiology 2e, section 1.6 and Open RN Medical Terminology in NCBI Bookshelf, chapter 2, section 2.6. No source or competitor wording, layout, or media was copied. Facts and source materials aren't claimed as ours.
The original prompts, answers, sequence, metadata, and generated cover are dedicated under CC0 1.0 to the extent applicable rights exist. CC0 doesn't apply to source material or source ownership. This is an independent study deck and isn't affiliated with or endorsed by OpenStax, Rice University, NCBI, the U.S. National Library of Medicine, Open RN, or WisTech Open.

質問
What reference position do anatomical directional terms assume?
回答
Standard anatomical position: standing upright, feet parallel with toes forward, upper limbs held slightly away from the sides, and palms facing forward. Directional descriptions keep this reference even when the person is in another posture.
