ASVAB Flashcards: Verbal, Math, Science & Technical Review
Review the facts worth recalling before you spend time on full practice questions. These 220 English flashcards cover all four official ASVAB domains and map to the ten computerized subtests without copying the test.
What the cards practice
- Verbal — 45 cards: produce meanings for 20 useful words, connect 10 roots or affixes with their meanings and examples, and recall 15 bounded reading concepts such as main idea, inference, tone, context clues, and passage structure.
- Math — 55 cards: recall number rules, algebra relationships, geometry formulas, and ten common setup patterns for rates, interest, percent change, mixtures, work, probability, scale, and word-to-expression translation.
- Science — 40 cards: connect life-science structures and processes, chemistry and physics terms, and Earth and space processes with their defining functions or principles.
- Technical — 65 cards: connect electrical quantities, circuit behavior, vehicle and shop components, tools, simple machines, and physical principles with their functions, units, formulas, or relationships.
- Spatial — 15 cards: recall bounded rotation, reflection, boundary-matching, silhouette, overlap, scale, landmark, symmetry, and viewpoint concepts that support spatial-relation practice.
The cards use useful forward mappings such as term → meaning, quantity → unit or formula, component → function, and principle → relationship. A few prompts ask for a setup from familiar wording. The deck does not mechanically reverse every fact, add answer-choice recognition, or turn every definition into several near-duplicates.
What needs separate practice
Flashcards are a poor substitute for passage-heavy Paragraph Comprehension drills, timed multi-step Arithmetic Reasoning problems, and full visual Assembling Objects items. Those need original passages or diagrams, realistic answer choices, and time pressure, so they are explicitly excluded here. The deck also excludes score tables, changing service cutoffs, advanced electronics design, diagnostic auto repair, hazardous procedures, and obscure trade trivia.
Learning order
The sequence makes repeated passes across verbal, math, science, technical, and spatial material. Foundations arrive before dependent knowledge: number operations before algebra and applied setups, cell and matter basics before larger systems, electrical quantities before circuit rules, and component names before mechanical relationships. Related directions and near-duplicates are separated by at least three unrelated cards where practical; the later technical tail keeps rotating among electronics, auto, and mechanics.
Scope and provenance
The official ASVAB subtests page defines the four domains and ten computerized subtests. Its administration note explains that Auto Information and Shop Information are separate on the computerized test but combined on the paper-and-pencil test and for the reported AS score. The official preparation guidance recommends a solid foundation in mathematics, English, science, and technical coursework.
The facts are common high-school and introductory technical knowledge. The prompts, answers, selection, and order were independently written and manually checked. No competitor cards or third-party media were used. The generated cover is original and contains no official marks.
The Common knowledge · CC0 1.0 label applies to the original wording, organization, metadata, and cover to the extent applicable rights exist. It does not claim ownership of facts or third-party names.

This is an independent, unofficial study deck. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or supplied with questions by the ASVAB Testing Program or the U.S. Department of Defense. No official questions, passages, answer choices, score tables, curriculum wording, or protected prep-book wording were copied.
